The Los Cisnes property is 23,000 ha located in the highly prospective Deseado Massif of Santa Cruz province in southern Argentina. The Deseado Massif is a 60,000 km2 area which contains numerous low-sulfidation, epithermal, precious-metal quartz vein and vein-breccia deposits and hosts several producing mines including Anglogold Ashanti’s Cerro Vanguardia gold-silver mine, Minera Don Nicolas, commissioned in December 2017, and Yamana Gold’s Cerro Moro mine with its first pour of gold and silver doré occurring in the second quarter of 2018.
Previous exploration work at Los Cisnes included sampling and scout drilling which identified two main targets; El Brio, a high-grade silver vein-breccia system and El Solar, a bulk tonnage gold-silver target. In 2015 Mariana Resources Ltd. completed a drill program focusing on the Brio vein which returned positive results including drill-hole LCsD-09 with an intercept of 2.9 metres at 755.0 g/t silver from 32.1 metres including 0.9 metres at 1,400.0 g/t silver.
New Dimension Resources Inc. acquired the Los Cisnes property in May of 2018 and promptly began a phase 1 diamond drill program to extend the known mineralization.
Results from a 1,564 metre drilling program completed in Q3 2018 supports both down-dip and along-strike extensions to the high-grade silver mineralization reported in 2015. Highlights from the diamond drill program include:
- Drill-hole LCsD-14: 4.4 metres @ 566 g/t silver from 100.3 meters including 0.8 meters @ 1,653 g/t silver from 103.0 metres.
Drill-hole LCsD-18: 4.4 metres @ 123 g/t silver from 47.6 metres including 0.8m @ 276 g/t silver from 49.2 metres.
- Drill-hole LCsD-20: 2.0 metres @ 381 g/t silver from 39.0 metres including 0.8 metres @ 528 g/t silver from 59.7 metres.
